बिहार सरकार के पूर्व मंत्री एवं राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष डॉ सुरेश पासवान ने कहा है कि 1931के बाद पहली बार बिहार की सरकार ने तमाम अड़चनों को पार करते हुए अपने राज्य के संसाधन से जातिगत जनगणना कराकर राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी के जन्म दिवस के मौके पर रिपोर्ट जारी कर समस्त बिहारवासियों को अमूल्य तोहफा दिया है। इसके लिए हम तहेदिल से राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के राष्ट्रीय
अध्यक्ष एवं पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री श्री लालू प्रसाद जी,बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री श्री नीतीश कुमार जी एवं उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री तेजस्वी प्रसाद यादव जी को बधाई देना चाहता हूं कि आपने लगभग सौ वर्षों के बाद बिहार में जातिगत जनगणना सार्वजनिक कराकर, अपने अपने जाति की वास्तविक संख्या बताकर इतिहास रचने का ऐतिहासिक काम किया है।
डॉ पासवान ने कहा है कि बिहार सरकार को अब इस आंकड़े के आधार पर अनुसूचित जाति-जनजाति एवं पिछड़े -अति पिछडे वर्गों के लिए आरक्षण का दायरा तय करना चाहिए। साथ ही इसी आंकड़े के आधार पर राजनीतिक, समाजिक हिस्सेदारी भी तय किया जाना चाहिए। साथ ही साथ सम्पूर्ण विकास के लिए कल्याण कारी योजनाएं बनाई जानी चाहिए ताकि हासिए पर पड़े हुए समुहों का समुचित विकास हो सके। जारी आंकड़े से तो यह बिल्कुल साफ हो गया है कि अभी तक 85% लोगों के साथ नाइंसाफी के साथ साथ हकमारी हुई है। डॉ पासवान ने कहा है कि बिना विलम्ब किए जातिगत जनगणना तो पुरे देश में होना चाहिए ताकि जिसकी जितनी संख्या भारी, उतनी उनकी हिस्सेदारी मिल सके।
