औरंगाबाद जिले के कुटुम्बा प्रखंड के परता पैक्स के पूर्व अध्यक्ष अर्जुन पाण्डेय नहीं रहे। उनका निधन लम्बे बिमारी के बाद 16 जुलाई (रविवार) को हो गया। पूर्व अध्यक्ष के निधन का खबर जैसे ही लोगों को मिला तो पंचायत क्षेत्रों एवं आस पास गांवों में भी शोक का लहर दौड़ गया। देखते ही देखते उनके पैतृक गांव परता में पूर्व अध्यक्ष के अंतिम दर्शन के लिए उनके शुभचिंतकों का भीड़ उमड़ने लगा।परता
पंचायत के मुखिया श्याम बिहारी राय, पूर्व मुखिया बिरेंद्र पाण्डेय, पूर्व सरपंच प्रेम लाल सिर, बलिया पैक्स अध्यक्ष एवं पूर्व मुखिया कपील देव पाण्डेय, परता पंचायत के पूर्व मूखिया अशोक सिंह, गांधीवादी नेता पंडित अवधेश मिश्रा, समाजिक कार्यकर्ता व पत्रकार आलोक कुमार के अलावे सैंकड़ों ग्रामीणों ने दिवंगत आत्मा को भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए शोक संतप्त परिजनों के प्रति संवेदना व्यक्त किया है। जानकारी के अनुसार दिवंगत आत्मा को परता स्थित बटाने नदी पर श्मशान घाट पर अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। बड़े पुत्र पप्पू पाण्डेय ने मुख अग्नि दिया जिसके साथ ही पूर्व पैक्स अध्यक्ष पंच तत्व में विलीन हो गए।
