बिहार के अररिया जिले में शुक्रवार की सुबह पत्रकार विमल यादव की गोली मार कर निर्मम तरीके से की गई हत्या के विरोध में औरंगाबाद पत्रकार संघ द्वारा एक शोक सभा आयोजित की गयी. शोकसभा के दौरान सभी पत्रकारों ने पीड़ित परिवार को मुआवजा, नौकरी एवं जल्द से जल्द अपराधियों को गिरफ्तार कर फांसी की सजा दिलाने की मांग बिहार सरकार से की है। खबर सुप्रभात के संपादक मंडल के अलावे बिहार अनुसूचित जाति के उपाध्यक्ष व कुटुम्बा के पूर्व विधायक ललन भुईयां, वरीय अधिवक्ता शतीश स्नेही,
पत्रकार रिजवान अंसारी, महाराणा प्रताप इंटर कालेज के प्रोफेसर अरुण सिंह, वरीय अधिवक्ता व भाजपा के जिला महामंत्री मुकेश कुमार सिंह, पत्रकार अम्बुज कुमार, पत्रकार अरशद अली मानवाधिकार फाउंडेशन के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष डाक्टर शारदा शर्मा आदि ने आक्रोश जताते हुए घटना का कड़े शब्दों में निन्दा करते हुए कहा कि पत्रकारों की हत्या लोकतंत्र के हत्या हुई है। उन्होंने कहा कि बिहार में पत्रकारों को सुरक्षा देने में सरकार और प्रशासन दोनों असफल हो रही है।
